Prime is a stylish, modern restaurant in central Queenstown, overlooking Lake Wakatipu. The restaurant features stunning views with elegant décor and lighting that create a welcoming ambience by day or night.

Cleverly positioned curtains and furniture divide the large floor space into several intimate areas but these can be moved around to accommodate one large event, making Prime the ideal venue for both large and small groups.

Prime has hosted conferences, concerts, gala dinners, cocktail functions, weddings and barbecues. An upstairs venue, Prime has one entrance to Rees Street with a lift, and one entrance to the lake walkway.

A partially-covered balcony overlooks Rees St and is ideal for barbecues and outdoor seating in the summer months. A central gas fire provides a warm welcome in the cooler months.

Private Dining

Prime can seat 180 guests and can accommodate 250 standing. For groups larger than 40, we ask that they take exclusive use of the restaurant.

Larger groups are recommended to choose a set menu. A variety of styles and prices are available, along with wine and beer options, on request.

We have a private area, curtained off from the main restaurant, with seating capacity for up to 40 guests. This curtained area has lake views and encompasses the stage, screen and data projector.

Conferencing

As well as being the perfect venue for conference dinners, Prime is also available for meetings and seminars during the day. We have day-delegate packages and a variety of catering options available on request. Our data projector, screen, sound system, elevated stage and black-out curtains are in place and we can arrange additional conference equipment on request.

Pricing

Rather than charge a hire fee, we encourage organisers of exclusive functions to aim for a minimum food and beverage spend, the amount depending on the time of year and the function format.

Extra-large Functions

Our sister restaurant Tatler, in association with its neighbours Winnies and Ballarat, can host marquee events for up to 900 guests. such as the TRENZ farewell function last May.
